In 1940, Percy Daniel joined the law firm of Carl Kincaid, in Rio de Janeiro and later became the partner responsible for the Intellectual Property Department of the firm.
After Mr. Kincaid’s death in 1958, Percy Daniel founded Daniel & Cia. and in 1959 formed partnership with his brother, his sister and his son, Denis Allan Daniel who became the Senior Partner in 1977. In January 2002, the name of the firm changed to DANIEL ADVOGADOS to meet increased demand for other law areas such as Contract Law, Arbitration Law, Transfer of Technology and Know-how, Trademark and Patent License Agreements, Franchise Agreements, Hotel Management Agreements, Entertainment Agreements, Anti-Trust Law, Consumer Protection, Comparative Advertising, Industrial Designs, Litigation, Patents, Computer Programs, Trademarks and Unfair Competition.

Experience and tradition, together with youth and innovation, account for the firm’s reputation in intellectual property circles.

The recent move to an open plan on the same floor, has favored faster internal communications and document flow.
