Bacot & Bacot was founded in 1988 by Oscar Bacot Silveira, who had previously worked in prestigious firms in the field of Intellectual Property.

Bacot & Bacot very rapidly became a leading firm, not only in the local, but also in the international market, with a portfolio of clients that included since its foundation the most prestigious companies of all sectors.

The privileged positioning of Bacot & Bacot has determined its constant growth and modernization, with a view to providing its clients with a reliable standard of quality in the professional services being offered. In addition, the process of expansion undergone led the firm to gain a unique position as an international centre of provision of services, thus enabling its clients to centralize its brand portfolio in Latin America.

At present, its staff includes more than 45 professionals, among whom are Industrial Property Agents, Lawyers, Notaries Public, Certified Translators and Chemical, Civil and Industrial Engineers. This staff is interacting permanently in order to provide an integral solution to the client.

Bacot & Bacot has specialized in the defense of Intellectual Property rights, offering advisory and management services in the area of distinctive signs, patents, copyright, names of domain, registration of vegetable products and varieties, commercial contracts and connected rights.

The firm also has an innovative Department dedicated exclusively to patent search – mainly, pharmaceutical patents – and biotechnology. This Department is made up of a specialized team of Chemical Engineers and Pharmaceutical Chemists with ample experience in the field.
